Reversa

I got an alert: what to do

Updated

An alert means that an event went over one of the Protection rules, for example many products with their price multiplied within a few minutes. It may be a mistake or an intentional change: the alert gives you the data to decide in a couple of minutes.

What the alert contains

What to do, step by step

  1. Open the link in the alert. It takes you to the event in Reversa, inside the Shopify admin.
  2. Look at the likely source and the example. If the change was intentional (a planned price rise, a correct import), press "Mark as reviewed". The alert no longer appears on Home.
  3. If it is a mistake, prepare the undo. Press "Prepare undo" and check what reverts, what is kept because someone changed it later and what is not touched. Nothing is written until you confirm.
  4. Confirm. Reversa saves a restore point and writes the changes to Shopify, product by product or in batches when there are many.
  5. Review the check. When it finishes, Reversa reads the store again and tells you how many fields match the expected value. If any do not match, review them before retrying, or write to us from that same screen.

If the alert was not needed

If you get alerts for normal changes, choose the Calm profile or adjust the rules under Protection › Alerts › Customize. If an alert you expected does not arrive, check the email addresses and the Slack connection in Protection › Alerts, and use the test alert.

While you decide

Undoing sooner shortens the time the store shows wrong data, but there is no need to rush: Reversa keeps whatever is fixed by hand in the meantime. Remember that the history is kept according to your plan (90, 180 or 365 days); after that, the event can no longer be undone from Reversa.
